The Santa Clara County Library District Joint Powers Authority (Library) presently has eight community libraries serving 419,141 people in the cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill and Saratoga. A bookmobile serves the population in less accessible areas and many of the unincorporated areas of the County. A total of 10.5 million items circulate each year from a collection of 1.7 million, with a visitor count surpassing 3.4 million.
The Library disposes of surplus property that is no longer required. If the property is not identified for use by any other Library branch or location within the County Library system, the property is made available for sale or donation. This is done in accordance with California Government Code 25504 and the JPA Procurement Policy, Section 39, Disposal of Personal Property no longer needed.
