The Digital Media Department at UVU owns a pair of Varjo X-4 (Gen 1) Mixed Reality Headsets. These top-tier XR devices are specifically designed for high-quality VR/MR immersive production. Varjo claims, “Our latest generation of mixed reality headsets combines the world’s most advanced immersive technology with cutting-edge graphical performance, delivering unparalleled realism for training and simulation across various environments, including air, land, and sea.”

These headsets are in excellent condition and have been lightly used. We’re selling them because our students work with platforms like Meta, HTC, Apple Vision Pro, and others. However, the Varjo system requires a dedicated workstation configuration, which creates conflicts with software and maintenance issues. Given our tight budget, we’d rather not invest in another series of high-end workstations. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with these headsets; they perform as advertised.
